Shifting perceptions of advanced biologics for arthritis


Janssen Asia Pacific product teams struggled to encourage doctors to prescribe advanced treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) patients. There was a significant lack of awareness of the severity of RA and biologics as an effective treatment option, especially during the early stage of the disease.


We needed to directly engage doctors and rheumatologists across APAC markets to encourage them to initiate biologics earlier. This required an informative campaign, combined with awareness-raising among patients. We developed an integrated public relations campaign that leveraged research findings to drive discussion around the value of biologics, and created new materials and channels for patients, HCPs and the public to empower them with information.


  • 100 rheumatologists reached at leading congress through our campaign information

  • New visual marketing materials (off- and on-line) for patients and HCPs (infographic, animated videos, clinic posters and leaflets)

  • New microsite for patients in partnership with local societies, designed to be universally accessible for arthritis sufferers (a first for Janssen)
